Armchair for Rica Talk Hotel

This piece is a play on the archetype of an upholstered chair but with a cleaner form and a modern upholstery pattern that remains just as comfortable. Together with the floor lamp designed in parallel the pair stands out among the other somewhat muted furnishings. The hope is that guests will be reminded of the cozy feeling of home. The upholstery is a textile designed by Marcel Wanders with colors specially adapted for this project. The pattern breaks down the scale and creates tension between the modern pattern and the chair’s classical form.
