A new stage in the heart of Bollnäs
Brotorget stands at the city’s heart, a place that caters both to the everyday and special events. Brotorget features an open and flexible area that hosts activities such as streetside markets, roller skating, concerts, conversation, performances, and events. The square is styled after aspects of the surrounding areas with a floor patterned in modern designs derived from regional traditions. It’s a floor that represents an identity and reflects the square’s significance as an important meeting place. The stage is a crucial aspect of Brotorget. The red stage functions as one of the square’s eye-catching features and becomes a strong reference point and symbol for those unfamiliar with the city. The stage is designed without a backside with walls and a roof of red tar shingles in a shape that draws from the rolling mountainscape of Hälsingland. The timber floor of the stage works also as a sheltered place to sit or a place to dance or hold spontaneous performances. Integrated in the stage is a music system that can be controlled from your phone.
The south side of the stage presents a sunny stairway where many can sit together. The stage is accessed from two points framed with graceful birch trees.
