When Textiles Take Centre Stage
Upon entering Wåhlin’s law firm, visitors encounter beautiful textiles in pleasing colours. The exclusive curtains and carpets combine into forming a welcoming theme that runs through the entirety of the interior. In conjunction with meticulously selected furniture in exquisite materials and freshened-up preserved pieces, Wåhlin’s new Stockholm 380-square-metre office has been given a completely new style.
Largely retained, the existing plan has been elucidated and provided with a central core including a seating area, a touchdown space for knowledge transfer and meeting rooms. Light drapes in pale colours envelop the shared areas and mark the transition to the individual offices. Colour splashes in the form of fittings, painted doors and corridors enliven and add a touch of playfulness. The hand-woven carpets from Vandra Rugs are of the highest quality and great durability. The carpets in the lobby and break area feature inwoven elements of gold thread, while silver thread has been interwoven into the carpet in the large conference room.
Great care has been taken to select sustainable, high-quality materials or, as far as possible, to reuse existing materials. The conference and office section carpet is made of recycled PET bottles and a large part of the office furniture has been retained; some have been refinished. The new perforated ceiling outside the offices provides a sensation of space and downlights create a pleasant and varied illumination. The lighting accentuates the warm and tactile curtains and carpets, creating a comfortable, environment.
